​Cheer Practice Schedule
Sidelines practice will begin on July 24, 2017.
The first week of practice (July 24, July 25, and July 27), practice will be held Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday at 7:30 pm - 9:00 pm. Note that we've pushed the start times back to allow for the extreme heat.

Sideline Practices
Sidelines cheer practices will run from July 25 - November 15*

*(Practice dates 11/7 and 11/14 will be for teams in the Playoffs and Super Bowl only)

  • Sidelines cheer practices will be held on Tuesday and Thursday from 6:30 pm - 8:00 pm (July 24 - August 31)
  • Sidelines cheer practices will be held only on Tuesday from 6:30 pm - 8:00 pm (September 6 - November 15)  


Competition Practices
Competition cheer practices will run from August 4 - November 10
Mandatory competition cheer assessment will be held on Friday, July 28 from 6 pm - 8 pm

  • Competition cheer practices will be held on Friday from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm (August 4 - August 25)
  • ​Competition cheer practices will be held on Thursday and Friday from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm (September 7 - November 10) - dates subject to change if we add additional competition dates.


Cheer Academy
$130 - Runs every Monday and Wednesday in June from 6:30 pm – 8:00 pm at Lost Mountain Park.

Cheer Camp
A Hoya Youth Sidelines Cheer Camp with the Harrison High School Cheerleaders is planned for July 17 - 21 from 6:30 pm - 8:00 pm


Sidelines Cheer Registration Packet includes:

Uniform rental items: Cheer Top, Skirt and Pom Poms
Uniform kept items: Bloomers, Practice T-shirt/Tank, Practice Shorts, Leggings, Jacket, Sidelines Bow and Pink Out wear (pink bow and socks). 

Competition Cheer Registration Packet includes:
Liner, Competition Bow, Competition Shoes and player entrance fees to competitions

Player Information
For all practices, the girls must:

  • wear shorts/leggings, tank/t-shirt, and tennis shoes (girls cannot practice in just socks or barefoot, this is for their safety)
  • have their hair pulled up
  • bring a towel to stretch/sit on
  • bring a lot of water to drink
  • bring bug spray
  • bring sunscreen
  • not wear jewelry to practice (if ears have been newly pierced, please cover with small Band-Aids to protect them)


All cheerleaders are expected to participate in all jamborees, regular season games, and playoff games throughout the entire season​​​.

All competition cheerleaders are expected to attend every scheduled practice. Coaches need to be notified of any absences before August 11, 2017. If more that two practices are missed without prior notification, the cheerleader will be dismissed from the team without refund.


Coach Information
Background Check
​Coaches will be required to complete a more in depth background check that will cost them $14. This background check link will be on the Cobb Football League  website when parents are registering their children.  Coaches will also, have to show a valid id with photo before receiving their CFL badge.

Concussion Requirements
All coaches are required to take the free Heads Up Concussion training. Click the link 'Head Up Concussion In Youth Sports' to begin the training.  Once you've completed the course, you'll be presented with a completion certificate. Print this out and bring it when you check out your equipment. ​​

Cobb County Heat Policy
Cobb county has implemented some important safeguards to help protect our players during extreme weather. Practices times may be adjusted due to high heat conditions. These adjustments are for the safety of our athletes.
